The Northumberland Driving Institute offers courses on driver training for tractor - trailers and courses on the operation of heavy equipment.

Tractor-trailer driving course:
Here at Northumberland Driving Institute, we pride ourselves in graduating quality entry-level professional drivers. Entrance requirements comprised of screening candidates for criminal records, driving abstracts, medical fitness and drug awareness. The screening process takes place before individuals are accepted.

Heavy equipment course:
We are offering a 5-week heavy equipment operators course. The
main focus of our program is excavators, bulldozers, bucket loaders
and tractor backhoes. On most major construction jobs, these are the machines in the most demand. Safety is a major emphasis in our program. Half of each day is spent in the classroom covering various topics from safety to soil types. The other half of the day is spent operating heavy machinery, doing various jobs, which would be required on an actual job site. Our field instructors have many years of experience in the construction industry.
